I feel like I do a pretty good job about taking pictures and documenting the things we do, the places we go and all your milestones as they grow up. This year I thought I would add some words (although, bear with me, I am not a great writer). A little about what we have been doing each month, preserving bits of their personality and childhood through my eyes and memories. Also another option for me to reflect how fast time is going and to cry happy tears each time I write to them. Geeze, I love these kids.
Jack and Carter,
Summer is winding down. I am amazed at how quick the summer has gone by! Some of the days seemed so long and hard but in the end I cherish these times. I feel like I work hard to try to give you boys wonderful memories to look back on after you’ve grown.
We started the summer heading to the east coast. We were lucky enough that both sets of grandparents were able to come together with us at the beach house for a whole week! We had some awesome beach weather. You boys spent nearly every day digging on the beach. Giant holes, sand castles, and playing endlessly with the “goo sand”. We looked for shells, enjoyed high tide and low tide. We had a great seafood dinner, fried dough and even enjoyed some mini golf! We were lucky that daddy had the time off to join us too.
We got to spend an extra 10 days at Grammy & Grampa’s too. You guys caught fish, and even cooked them. Grampa built a fire pit in the back and we cooked hot dogs and yummy smores. We took a trip to Canada for strawberries and ice cream. do you remember how yummy they both were? Mommy took her first solo kayak ride and was happy not to tip. You boys got to go in the canoe with Grampa and even went to Canada in the water! We hit Santa’s Village and had a great vacation. You guys are so lucky to have wonderful grandparents!! Mommy is too.
The rest of the summer has been filled with days at home to avoid the heat, pool time, parks with great water features, and a few days exploring new places.
I feel lucky that I get to spend this time with you both.
